Illinois State University offers a supportive and diverse environment for its students, faculty/staff, and visitors. The Office Equal Opportunity, Ethics & Access, located in 208 Hovey Hall, is responsible for administering and monitoring the University’s equal opportunity and diversity-related policies and procedures, pursuant to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended, Americans with Disabilities Act and other relevant federal, state and local statutes. Office of Equal Opportunity collaborates with University management and staff to ensure that campus operations, programs and structures comply with these requirements as well as investigates discrimination complaints from faculty, students and staff.
Office of Equal Opportunity provides technical assistance to university departments and to individuals who have concerns and questions regarding sexual harassment, accessibility, discrimination, recruitment and hiring processes, equal opportunity, affirmative action and diversity and cultural competence. The Diversity Advocacy unit helps students find their way by providing cultural experiences, promoting diversity education, and supporting student development.
